Skyrim AE Builds

Desert Wind

Redguard - Sword - Heavy - Warrior

Background

The Desert Wind is a swashbuckling sellsword that is as fast as the wind with their speed, grace and combat finesse. The wind is also used to disrupt enemies and control combat.

Weapons

Imperial Steel sword and then a Scimitar. A Scimitar can be acquired by the Lord’s MailCC quest from the note in General Tulius’ Room in Castle Dour, Solitude.

Armor

Any heavy armor at the start of the game. The final gear is Silver and Moonstone Circlet, Hammerfell Garb, Dawnguard Heavy Boots, Dawnguard Heavy Gauntlets.

The Hammerfell Garb can be puchased from Radiant Raiment in solitude.

The boots and gauntlets can be acquired once you have joined the Dawnguard, rescued Serana and taken her home and finally recruited Gunmer and Sorine into the Dawnguard. You can then buy them from Gunmer.

The Ring of the Wind from FishingCC is used as this increases movement speed by 15%, which is a rare item found when Fishing. Good Luck!. The ring of Khajiit gives a 10% increase in movement speed and is acquired from a quest in the FishingCC rather than with a fishing rod so may be useful if you grow impatient or while you wait for your luck to be favourable. Using a Fortify Illusion potion before equipping these rings boosts the movement speed until the ring is removed. I had the Ring of the Wind giving a 40% speed increase.

Spells

Restoration for heals. Whirlwind Cloak from Destruction as it sometimes knocks enemies down when they get close, which helps when they attack in numbers. Also a little bit of Alteration for utility spells.

Standing Stones

Take The Atronach Stone for 50% spell absorption, 50 Magicka but -50% Magicka regeneration when you have reached 100 Alteration and have the Atronach perk, which is a total of 80% spell absorption.

Shrines

Use a Shrine of Talos for the 20% reduction to shout cooldowns.

Dragon Shouts

Cyclone (Wind - Unleash - Strike)

Location: Benkongerike, Kolbjorn Barrow (Unearthed), White Ridge Sanctum

Can be used to knock multiple enemies to the ground that are in the path of the cyclone.

Elemental Fury (Air - Battle - Grace)

Location: Statue of Meridia, Dragontooth Crater, Shriekwind Bastion

Provides a significant boost to attack speed with weapons.

Whirlwind Sprint (Whirlwind - Fury - Tempest)

Location: Dead Men’s Respite, Volskygge, High Hrothgar (The Way of the Voice)

Use to reach otherwise inaccessible places and to quickly evade attacks or catch up with fleeing enemies.

Character Creation

Female Redguard

Pick Redguard for the daily ability to have a massive boost to stamina regeneration which is basically continual power attacks for 60 seconds. The 50% poison resistance means that for 1 perk point you can have the in game cap for poison resistance.

It generally makes more sense to create a female character as there are more male merchants than female so you get use out of the Allure perk. There are also more male enemies than female in Skyrim, with all Dwemer automatons being classed as male, so you get more use out of the Agent of Dibella lesser power. These are minor boosts though.

Attribute Distribution

Place attributes at a ratio of 0 / 3 / 1. At level 56 which is required for all the perks the attributes are:

Magicka Health Stamina
100 (265) 520 (635) 230 (345)

Spells

Alteration

Spell Level Description
Candlelight Novice Creates a hovering light that lasts for 60 seconds
Detect Life Adept Nearby living creatures, but not undead, machines or Daedra, can be seen through walls
Telekinesis Adept Can pull an object to you from distance. Add it to your inventory or throw it
Waterbreathing Adept Can breathe under water for 60 seconds

The Detect Life spellbook can be obtained in Whiterun by taking to the Steward in Dragonsreach and following the quest to the Stables.

Destruction

Spell Level Description
Whirlwind Cloak Adept For 60 seconds, opponents in melee range have a chance of being flung away
Unbounded Storms Expert Targets in melee range take 40 shock damage per second to Health, and half that to Magicka. Random lightning strikes deal an additional 30 damage

Whirlwind Cloak doesn’t work on anything immune to Paralysis (Atronach, Automatons, Chaurus Hunter, Dragons, Dragon priests, Gargoyles, Ghosts, Horses, Ice Wraiths, Karstaag, Mammoths, Mounted Rieklings, Seekers, Skeletons, Vampire Lords, Werewolves, Wisps and Wispmothers.

Unbounded Storms is purely used as a means to level Destruction.

Illusion

Spell Level Description
Courage Novice Target won't flee for 60 seconds, and gets some extra health and stamina.

Courage is the same as Unbounded Storm for Desruction, in that it can be used to level Illusion to gain character levels. I usually cast it at people in towns while making my way to a merchant.

Restoration

Fast Healing Apprentice Heals caster by 50 points
Close Wounds Adept Heals caster by 100 points
